Happy Valentine's Day to all my Hookers!

Happy Valentine's day (and hearts and kisses and shit!)

The hubs and I don't really celebrate Vday too much.
We usually just give little gifts and make a special meal.

On tonight's menu...
I'm trying this Crockpot French Onion Soup and the hubs wanted to make Chicken Parmesan.
(Mine, of course on a bed of spaghetti squash cos I'm so cool like that!)
And probably some festive red, pink, and white pudding parfaits
Classy and shit
And, of course, to keep with all the fancy, I'll be drinking my wine in a can from Miss Marcia!


I got the hubs a ticket to see Florida Georgia Line with Luke Bryan!
(Cos the hubs got me my ticket for my birthday....but I'm 100% primarily interested in that sex-on-a-stick that is Luke Bryan!!)


And he got me a 24-count box of Sport Beans!
(Which I am honestly and truthfully totes excited about!!)
And can't forget my "box of chocolates" from the hubs! ;) 
Cute, right?!?!

To know me is to know I love a theme.
You give me a holiday and I'll take their colors and shapes and run with it!

Weigh-In Wednesday and Shiz

Well hello there.
Let's not beat around the bush.
I'm stoked.
I kicked my plateau's ass and shoved this number in it's face this morning!
And dude, the scale totally read 158.2 when I first stepped on it.
Got off to get my phone to snap a pic, stepped back on...158.2.
Leaned down a tad to take a pic...158.8.
Stood back up straight and zoomed in on the camera and still 158.8.
Of course I got on and off a couple times and it wouldn't budge from 158.8.
Damn you, .6!!
BUT......
Buh-bye, 160's!!

But seriously...I know chamomile is known for it's calming and soothing ability but this shit literally puts me to bed in no time.
I feel like I found the new Nyquil.
Is it all in my head, or is chamomile totally a sleep drug?!?

Guess who's started voluntarily walking 4-6 miles a night, buying spinach and eating more salads?!?!
My hubby-poo!!
I think it's cos he sees the changes in me and it's inspired him.
Whatever it is, It's pretty awesome!!

He's also been, uh, all about dat ass...
He's never given me a hard time about my chubbiness.
But I've noticed that as the weight comes off, so do my clothes.
If you know what I mean...
And I get it.
But it's a weird concept...
like it's a compliment but kind of a diss to the old fat you at the same time.
Whatever!

Let me just warn said husband who said, and I quote, "If you lose any more weight, I won't have anything to grab..."
Wow, honey! That's so sweet of you considering all women love for their significant other to comment on their itty-bitty-titties.

And lastly...Carbonated White Wine...in a can...with a straw.... I die!

2013 Runs

So, apparently some of y'all did the make it rain dance with me!

My gracious and generous people gifted me some money for my birthday so I signed up for some races and got some running gear!!!

Here's the races on my calendar for 2013 thus far!!

1. Chambersburg Half Marathon (Mar.9) - This is the one I've been training for and I'm stoked and nervous all at the same time!!

 2. Monument 10K  (Apr.13) - This race is so big you have to sign up for which wave you want to run in. And if it's a wave under 62 minutes you have to prove, with a previous race time, that you can do it in the time frame you sign up for. I signed up for the 58:00 - 58:59 wave. I used my 5k time in November of 28:29. I'm honestly shooting for under 55 minutes. I just ran 5 miles in an 8:54 min average pace, so for this 10k, I want all of my miles to be 9 minutes or under. After the half in March, I'll tweak my training plan to work towards this. (more on that later, I'm sure!)

3. Richmond Color Me Rad 5K  (Apr.20) - This is for pure fun! I am doing this with 3 of my girlfriends and they said they'd do it only if I promised to walk it! ha ha! I'm also now thinking of taking my son for this one too thanks to Ashleigh posting pics on IG of her and her husband with their 2 boys after the race.

4. Race Against Poverty 5K  (June.7) - My good friend organizes this race back home and I've been wanting to do it for a few years now. I'm hoping to PR in this 5k (Current PR is 28:29 and I know I've done faster on my own since then)

5. Richmond Color Run 5K (Sept.14) - Totally stoked for this one! My cousin, Sarah is running it with me and she wants to run the whole thing, so my goal is to encourage and push her for this race!


I also got some compression pants courtesy of my dad and from my in-laws so I'm totally stoked!
I now have 3 compression capris and 2 compression pants!!

And I totally bought this hydration belt!
First time I used it, I apparently had it down to low, so my gut pushed it down and my thunder thighs knocked the water bottles out. I ended up throwing it on the ground on a spot that I knew I'd pass back by.
So the next day I put it up higher, like right under my boobicles. (Cos I knew it'd be safe there...my itty bitties wouldn't pose any danger of hitting it!!) And it worked perfectly! So I love it now!


We filed our taxes and with that money I definitely will be buying 1 or 2 Ruffles with Love
workout tanks. (Does anyone know if they still offer a discount on Mama L readers?!?!)
and some Bic Bands.
And then I'm pretty set on my running gear for now!

I'm sure I've bored you up to this point, but I just want to share this:

I couldn't go for my 3 miles on Thursday due to rain, so Friday I decided to go out there and run 1 mile as fast as I could! 8:17 is the number that popped in my head for wanting to get so I was shocked to see 7:42!!
I was breathing pretty hard when this was done and all I could think was "How in the world do people run 5k's, 10k's and half mary's at this pace?!?"
Anyway, I want to incorporate more stuff like this...hoping to increase my speed!


And then my long run on Saturday!
I was shooting for a 9:30 average pace, but one out of the 2 times that I stopped to walk/refuel took longer cos homegirl was sweatin! and had to take my jacket off so that ate up some time.
Still proud nonetheless!


I'm trying to work on not just posting about running.
But I was too excited about all this, so I had to!!
I'll try to switch it up every now and then for you bishes!

Lazy Monday

Hey hey hey!!

It's Monday....

My weekend was wonderful....we did absolutely nothing!
I went for my long run (per usual) on Saturday, and then a friend from Richmond and her boo came by for a little visit on Sunday.
Lazy and oh-so-good weekend.

So, since there's really not much to talk about from this weekend...
(other than some running, which I will post about tomorrow but thought it was too much on a boring Monday! You're welcome!)
...I figured I'd blog about this little gem!!

Complete and Utter Randomness

Ok, Hookers!!
Consider this your warning that I am going to be all over the place today...

Yesterday morning I could not get warm.
So I went to turn the heat up and saw it said the heat was set to 68 but it was only 64 in the house.
So, I did what any responsible woman would do and sent a picture of the thermostat to my husband so he could tell me what to do or take care of it!
(Has anyone else lost all independence in regards to fixing anything when they got married?!? Who am I?)
Needless to say we are out of oil.
Hubs called the oil company for them to fill our tank.
(But only so many gallons cos that shit be expansive....yeah, so expensive I have to spell it with an "a"! And cos Phil didn't see his shadow so spring BETTER be coming ASAP or I know a certain groundhog that won't be seeing much of anything...)
We know someone at the oil company so they said we'd be on the list to get some oil...yesterday.
Guess who had to run to Wal-Mart last night to get the little man some fleece-footed pj's and a space heater last night?
And guess who's writing this post in thermal underwear, sweatpants and 3 layers of shirts?!?
Bitches better bring the oil today...

Yesterday was a 5 mile pace run.
(which basically means "run run as fast as you can...")
My average pace per mile never even ventured into the 9's.
(8:58 was the highest average to be exact)
I am not meaning to brag to be annoying and all "Look at me! Look at me!"
I am simply bragging because the senior in high school that jogged the whole mile in the physical fitness tests and completed it in 12+ minutes never EVER thought she'd see the day her miles were run in 8/9 minute miles....and more than 10 years later (aka more than 10 years OLDER!)
It's a huge, personal accomplishment for me!

And, I don't know how some of you do this blogging world!!
I am super behind on reading posts from being gone all weekend.
And when I go into the office on Tuesdays I really don't get a chance to read blogs or get on Instagram like at all! (GASP!!!! Say it ain't so!!)
And that REALLY puts me behind.
And now I'm gonna be going into the office 2 days a week.
I work 30 hours a week, about half of them being in the office.
I can't keep up on my reading.
And I sure as hell can't keep up on my DVR!
35% available?!? 
Now granted, we have 90 episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse saved on here.
But on a good day, there's typically 65-70% of free space.
This probably all sounds a bit ridic...
But I'm honestly curious about how some of y'all do it!!

Weighing in on Wednesday in Mint Skinnies

First, I'd like to say that 30 is NOT the new 21.

I have not stepped on a scale since last weeks weigh-in, so I was slightly worried today.
160!
Say whaaaaaaat?!?!
I stayed the same from last week.
Which is pretty amazeballing faneffingtastic considering all the not-so-healthy food choices I made this weekend!

Exhibit C: Fun scavenger type game my sister created for me to get gifts....this one: "Chug a beer with a guy with facial hair" - I had to do this until I found the guy with the goodies. SHOOT ME!!

However, this could have helped
F U "Feels like 5 degrees"!! This is my worst pace on a long run to date but it was cold as balls...the water in my camel back froze and I almost broke my tooth on some sport beans. Glad that bitch is O-V-E-R!!


And possibly the fact that I threw up all party food and beer and anything I ate for the past year by the end of Saturday night and Sunday.
Until, on Sunday, I could finally stomach something at 3 pm when Google told me that a greasy bacon sandwich was the best thing to eat for a hangover
Best damn thing I ever ate!
I could just barely stomach a plate of Super Bowl food on Sunday night.
So, after all this, I'll take the 160 on the scale this morning.


And, since I've talked and talked and talked about the coveted mint skinny jeans...
(Which is, I'M SURE the only reason some of you came back! ;) )
I present to you, a 30-year-old MILF in some mint skinny jeans that only gave me a slight muffin top.
Nothing maddens me more than trying to turn this shit the right way. Tilt your head, people cos this is the best I can do!

Of course my little man had to be stylin' and profilin' too!
